Blood Flow Restriction Training

A cuff is placed at the upper portion of either the arm or leg and is inflated to a particular personalized pressure to temporarily restrict blood flow to that limb. In doing so, the patient is able to complete movement or exercise either without weight or at a low intensity and receive the same strength and endurance benefits as when exercising with heavier loads.

Training with BFR is beneficial following an injury when a painful area is unable to tolerate the stressors of heavier activity as well as following surgery while an area is healing to prevent muscle loss.

Additionally, BFR is beneficial for athletes and lifters looking to gain strength and reduce their likelihood for injury during a recovery week.
